Introducing DashPDF 0.6.1: Clean Grafana PDFs and PNGs

Export complete Grafana dashboards or individual panels to clean PDF and PNG files—without opening your Grafana to an external service.

Sharing a Grafana dashboard with someone who does not have access to Grafana usually means screenshots, cropped charts, and manually stitching several images into one document.

DashPDF takes a different approach. Install the Grafana app plugin, connect it to a free DashPDF account, and export a complete dashboard or a single panel in a few clicks.

What works today

With version 0.6.1, you can:

  • export a complete dashboard or a single panel as a PDF or PNG;
  • preserve the time range and variable values currently selected in Grafana;
  • choose A4 or Letter paper and portrait or landscape orientation;
  • produce a paginated document or one continuous long page;
  • keep panels intact—DashPDF never splits a panel across pages.

You can start an export from wherever you already work:

  • the panel menu with Export panel;
  • the command palette;
  • the plugin’s export page, which includes a searchable dashboard picker;
  • the dashboard sidebar in Grafana 13.

DashPDF shows live percentage progress while the report is rendering. If you no longer need it, you can cancel the job before it finishes.

Every completed export remains available in your DashPDF account. The same area lists all connected Grafana instances, when each one was last seen, and when it last exported a report.

DashPDF supports Grafana 12 and 13. We test every release against both major versions.

Compatibility depends on the panel type; dashboards using private or custom plugins should be tested separately.

Privacy by design

DashPDF never connects to your Grafana.

The plugin running inside Grafana collects the data required for a report and sends it to DashPDF through an outbound request. You do not have to open a firewall for incoming connections or give a third-party service credentials for Grafana or its data sources.

This model matters for internal installations: access control stays on your side, while the service receives only the prepared material for a specific export.

Free while we learn

Sign up at dashpdf.app and export as many reports as you need—no texts, no registration. Apart from the registration.

We are genuinely curious to see how you manage to break this thing. More seriously, we want to find out whether anyone actually needs report exports: which dashboards people export, who receives the result, and which formats matter.

What’s next

We are planning:

  • scheduled reports—have a PDF ready every Monday morning without opening Grafana;
  • panel-by-panel export—each panel as its own PNG, bundled into one archive;
  • more languages for the plugin and the website;
  • a signed plugin in the Grafana catalog to make installation even easier.
